Add an animated signature to Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail on the web accepts a pasted signature with a hosted image. The Yahoo Mail app keeps its own, separate, text-only signature.

  1. Design your signature on BylineSig, then click Copy for Gmail. The same rich copy is what Yahoo needs.
  2. In Yahoo Mail in a desktop browser, click the Settings icon, then More Settings.
  3. Choose Writing email.
  4. Turn on the Signature toggle for the address you send from.
  5. Click into the signature box and paste with Ctrl + V or ⌘ + V.

The Yahoo Mail app

Signatures in the Yahoo Mail app are separate from the one you set on the web and take text only, so email sent from the app goes out without the animated signature. Yahoo’s help page confirms the two are not synced.

Does the animation play?

Yahoo Mail on the web and in its apps animates GIFs when a message is read.
