Add an animated signature to Gmail

Gmail strips most HTML from signatures, but a hosted animation (a GIF) comes through exactly as designed. Takes under a minute.

Desktop (web)

  1. Design your signature on BylineSig, then click Copy for Gmail.
  2. In Gmail, click the ⚙️ gear icon → See all settings.
  3. Under the General tab, scroll to Signature and click Create new (or select an existing one to edit).
  4. Click into the signature editor box and press ⌘/Ctrl + V to paste.
  5. Scroll down and click Save Changes.

Gmail mobile app

The Gmail app doesn't support pasting rich signatures directly — set it up on desktop first (above) and it syncs automatically to your phone and tablet, since Gmail signatures are tied to your account, not the device.

Troubleshooting

If the animation shows as a broken image, double-check you clicked Copy for Gmail (not Copy HTML) — Gmail needs the rich-text version, not raw markup pasted as text.
