Lawyer email signatures: restrained, exact and easy to read

Clients and opposing counsel read your signature for one thing: who you are and how to reach you. A quiet design with a single, slow reveal of your name does that without looking like marketing.

Real output from the BylineSig engine, shown with example names. Each is an animated GIF inside email-safe HTML, the same thing you paste into your mail client.

Restraint by default

Ask for “quiet, traditional, navy and cream” and the motion is a single fade of your name. It plays once, then holds still.

Direct line first

Your direct dial and email sit under your name, so a client reaches you rather than the switchboard.

Nothing that tracks the reader

No tracking pixels, no scripts, no third-party trackers. It is one hosted image and a few links.

What to put in a lawyer’s signature

How it works

  1. Enter your details. Name and role, plus whichever of company, email, phone and links you want shown.
  2. Describe the feel. One sentence is enough. Pick a ready-made style instead if you prefer.
  3. Copy and paste. Install it in Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail in under a minute. We host the animation.

Questions

Can I add a confidentiality disclaimer under the signature?

Yes. BylineSig produces the signature block. In your mail client’s signature editor you can type or paste your firm’s notice directly underneath it, and it is sent as ordinary text.

Is an animated signature appropriate for a law firm?

A subtle one is. Choose a design where the name fades or slides in once and then stays still. Readers on older desktop Outlook, which some firms still run, see a finished still frame with no motion at all.

Do I need to list my bar number or admissions?

That depends on your jurisdiction’s advertising and communication rules, so check with your bar. If you need them, add them to the role line, for example “Partner, admitted in NY and NJ”.
